Read the chant and have pupils underline rhyming words. (day, gray; toes, nose)
Point out the different spelling patterns of nose and toes. Explain the meaning of toes in
L1 and remind them of the song Head, shoulders, knees and toes.

• Refer pupils to Let’s Practice, Exercise 2 on page 157. After pupils have completed the
interview, have them sit in pairs and interview each other. Finally invite two pupils to the
front of the class to act out a role play as reporters and interview each other.
• You may also want pupils to use their answers to write a personal information page.
Reflection
Ask: Would you like to go on a safari? If so, which animals would you want to see? How would
you like to travel in the safari? What did you learn about elephants that you didn’t know before?
