Ask: How do the Chinese people celebrate the New Year? (parades with dragons, costumes,
masks, and traditional foods) What costumes and masks do you remember from the parade?
Where did the kids find information that will help them save the pandas? (There was a note telling
them that the dragon would help them fly and find the pandas.)
1. Listen and Chant
• Play CD Track 47 and have pupils chant with you.
• Have pupils read silently, circling the word up every time it appears. (twice) Ask pupils
