Now put the flour in the bowl and mix the flour with the eggs, butter
and sugar until it is a big ball.
It’s not easy to mix in the flour.
I know, but it is important to mix it well. It soon will be one big ball.
Now, it’s ready. The eggs, butter, sugar and flour are now one big ball.
Great. Now, take pieces of the big ball and make small balls with
your hands, and put them on a baking pan.
It’s good my hands are clean. I washed them before we started.
Clean hands are always important. Now put the balls on this cookie
pan.
Wow, look how many balls there are on the cookie pan.
Now, comes the best part. Make a hole in the middle of each ball with
your finger.
A hole in the ball?
Yes, use your finger and make a small hole here in the middle of the
ball.
This is fun. There is a hole in each ball now.
Here’s the jam. Put a spoon of jam in each hole. Every ball needs a
spoon of jam in the hole in the middle.
Yummy. This is great jam. And it is a nice color – so red. Look, there’s a
spoon of jam in the middle of every cookie now.
Now we are ready to bake our cookies. I’ll open the oven door.
Be careful now. Put the cookies in the oven.
The cookie pan is now in the oven. When will the cookies be ready?
We have to bake them for 20 minutes.
20 minutes. That’s a long time.
I know, but even after 20 minutes we don’t eat the cookies yet. They
are too hot. We need to let them cool.
And then we eat them all up – YUM!
11. Do and Show - Make a Recipe Card

•
Have pupils look at the recipes as a model in order to complete the performance task.
Assign two pupils to collect the recipe cards from the class and prepare a cook book. If
possible have pupils prepare the book digitally so every pupil can get a copy of the book.
The following appear in my recipe
Yes
1. The name of the recipe in the title.
2. The list of the ingredients.
3. The steps of preparation.
4. A picture of the cookies.
