Have pupils look at the Preparation List.
Tell pupils that the steps are in the wrong order now.
Read all the steps aloud to pupils as they follow along. Translate into L1 any of the steps
that are not clear.
Tell pupils that they should now number these steps in the order that they believe is
correct. Have pupils share their prediction with a partner. Then have the class report their
suggested order.
Play CD Track 46.
Have pupils compare their predictions with the actual order of the steps. (1, 4, 7, 6, 2, 5,
3)
Listening Comprehension Script
Adult:
Ok, let’s turn on the oven first. Before making the cookies, I have to turn
on the oven to 190 degrees. The oven will be nice and hot when we put the cookies
in to bake.
Kid:
We have to be careful of the hot oven, right?
Adult:
Yes – don’t touch it. Now we are ready to make the cookies. First let’s take a bowl
and put the butter, sugar and eggs in it. Now, mix the butter, sugar and eggs
together in a bowl.
Kid:
This is fun. It is fun to mix all the ingredients. Now what?
