Do you remember?
• Ask pupils to retell interesting facts that they learned about pandas and other animals.
1. Listen and Chant
• Play CD Track 39 and chant together with pupils.
• Have pupils read the chant silently, circling the phrases Let's pack and Let's go.
• Use L1 to explain that the word let's is used to make a suggestion. Give examples like:
Let's look at the picture on page 106 of our book; Let's play a game.
• Point out the rhyming words fly and high, and their distinct spelling patterns. Point out the
letter y in the word fly that rhymes with cry.
• Ask pupils which letters they don't hear in the word high.
• Have pupils relate to the question: Where are Henry and Lucy going? (to the forest in the
mountains)
2. Match
• Put picture cards of all clothing items on the board: boots, coat, raincoat, gloves, hats,
pants, sandals, scarf, shoes, shorts, socks, sweater, umbrella. Say the name of each
item once, having pupils repeat after you.
• Show one word card at a time, asking a pupil to read the word, come to the board and
place it next to the correct picture.
• Have pupils open their books to the picture on page 106 and complete the exercise.
• Say an item, e.g. A big purple raincoat and ask pupils to say what number it is. Have them
repeat: Number 10 is a big purple raincoat.
• Repeat until all items have been described.
• Now play the game again by saying a number and asking pupils to describe the item.
