ABC Notebook

Say: Open your Course Books to page 185. This is the ABC Notebook.
Pupils should write their name in their ABC Notebook in English. They can copy it
from their name cards.
Have pupils flip through the ABC Notebook (pages 186-211) and find the first
letter of their name. Say: Point to the first letter of your name.
Walk around to check that pupils have opened to the correct page for their
name.

Say: Open your ABC Notebooks to page 188.
•
Ask: What letter is this? (Elicit: the letter C)
•
What sound does the letter C make? (Elicit: /k/)
Say together with the pupils: The letter is C and the sound is /k/.
Say: Find the letter Cc sticker on sticker page 2. Put the sticker on the letter Cc on
page 188 in the ABC Notebook.
Trace and write the big and small letters Cc to complete the page.

Give pupils some time to complete the page independently.
•
Say: Find the sticker pictures that begin with the sound /k/ on sticker page 2 and
stick them in the ABC Notebook.
NOTE

Notice any pupils who struggle with fine motor skills.
•
Pupils who finish early can draw more words that begin with the letter.
