Along with the pupils, retell the whole story as you point to each picture. Elicit the
following (or any other logical response) for each picture:
1. This is my mother. This is my father.
2. The boy is sad under the tree.
3. "Hello, my name is Mike." / "Hi, I am John."
4. The friends play in the yard.
5. The friends build a tree house.
6. The friends are happy in the tree house and in the yard.

Remind pupils that English is written from left to right, and from top to bottom.
•
Check that all pupils are holding their pencils properly by asking them to raise their
hands with the pencils. Say: Show me your pencils!

Say: Open your Course Books to page 29. Look at #5.

Say: Draw the shapes.
•
While pupils are working, walk around checking that pupils are drawing the shapes
from left to right and from top to bottom, and that they are holding their pencils
properly.

Say: Look at #6.
•
Say: Look at the shapes in #5. Find the hidden shapes in the pictures and trace them
in different colors.
•
Pupils should find the 4 shapes from #5 hidden in the pictures.
