Introductions and Greetings
Greetings

Max says: Hello. How are you?
Have the pupils respond together: I am fine, thank you. How are you?
Max: I am fine, thank you.

Max asks different pupils: What is your name? (Elicit: My name is _____ .)
•
Introduce a new greeting:

Ask pupils what they say in their language when they see someone in the
morning (use L1 if needed).
Tell them that in English we say: Good morning.
Say: Good morning. (Have pupils repeat after you.)
Max greets different pupils: Good morning, (Pupil’s name). (Elicit: Good morning,
Max.)
Have pupils say “good morning” to a partner.
Song

Teach and sing “Good Morning, Dear Pupils” (song #1.6)
•
Point to the pupils and yourself (teacher) as you sing the song to convey the
meaning. Have pupils do the same.
Vocabulary

Falling Down (game #ICT1)
Play the game to review the vocabulary: happy, sad, friend, tree, help, ball, boy,
girl, house, door, window, roof, play, bed, father, sister, family, jump, blue,
green.
Divide the class into two teams. Have a pupil come to the front of the classroom
to play.
Say: Listen and pop the correct balloon based on the word you hear.
