Teach and chant “A House with a Door” (song #1.26)
•
Have pupils copy the movements. Do gestures for roof (fingertips together), door
(opening a door), windows (hands apart and together, like opening a window), and 1,
2, 3, 4 (count on your fingers) and have pupils follow along.

Teach the new vocabulary using the flashcards and facial expressions.
Present each card one at a time and say the word: happy, sad.
Have pupils repeat the words and facial expressions.
Game
•
Go to Sleep (game #3)
Play the game to review and practice the vocabulary: friend, play, yard, tree,
help, ball, house, door, window, roof, happy, sad.
Review the words using the flashcards before playing the game.
Have pupils put their head on the desk and say: Goodnight. Go to sleep!
Hide one of the cards and say: Good morning. Wake up!
Ask: What’s missing?
Have pupils say what is missing. Reveal the card to check the answer.
Repeat the game several times and take away a different card each time.
