12. Mime Game
•
Show the flashcards.
•
Say a word and have pupils do a facial expression or mime the action.
•
Repeat for several words.
•
Then, do the facial expression/mime the action for a word and have pupils say the
word.
•
Repeat for several words.
13. Board Game
•
Review the words on the board before playing the game.
•
Have pupils play in pairs. Each pupil should have a game piece in a different color
than their partner.
•
Show pupils where to start and where to finish.
•
Throw the dice.
•
Have the pupils say the number they got on the dice.
•
Have the pupils count out loud as they move forward according to the number on the
dice.
•
The pupils have to say the word they land on: This is a _____ .
•
If they are correct, they may move forward one space.
•
If they are not correct, they must move back one space.
•
The winner is the one who reaches the finish line first.
14. Toss the Cube
•
Toss the cube to a pupil and have Max ask different questions, for example:
What is your name? (Elicit: My name is…)
Are you a boy or a girl? (Elicit: I am a boy/girl.)
How old are you? (Elicit: I am ___ years old.)
•
After the pupil responds, she/he tosses the cube back to you and you respond:
Thank you.
•
Repeat until many pupils have had a turn.
