5. Just a Peek
•
Show a covered flashcard with only one corner visible.
•
Ask: What is this?
•
Have pupils guess the word. If they don’t know, reveal another corner.
•
Continue until they get the answer correct, then reveal the whole card.
•
Repeat with all the words.
6. Stop Me When…
Say: Stop me when you see (a house).
Start showing the flashcards one at a time. Keep showing the flashcards until the
pupils shout "Stop!"
Ask: What/Who is this? (Elicit: This is (a house).)
Repeat with all the words.
7. Three in a Row
Show three randomly chosen vocabulary flashcards slowly.
Tell pupils to remember the pictures they see.
Hide the cards.
Ask: Who remembers?
Have a pupil say all three words in the correct order. If the pupil is correct, reveal
the cards.
If the pupil made a mistake, ask the class if another pupil can help, and then have
the first pupil repeat the right words.
Shuffle the cards to do this several times to review different words.
8. Point to…
•
Present the flashcards one at a time.
•
Say: Point to…
Have pupils point to different things in the classroom.
