Course Book
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 12.
•
Say: Number the pictures in the order they happen in the story.
•
Call on a pupil to choose the picture that happens first in the story.
Have the pupil use relevant vocabulary to describe the scene in the picture.
Then call another pupil until all the pictures are in the correct sequence.
Elicit the following (or any other logical response) for each picture:
-
#1: The monkeys put on pajamas.
-
#2: Five little monkeys jumping on the bed.
-
#3: One fell off and bumped his head.
-
#4: Mother called the doctor and the doctor said…
-
#5: No more monkeys jumping on the bed!
-
#6: The monkeys are in bed.
•
Reveal to check answers.
•
Now, along with the pupils, retell the whole story as you point to each picture.
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 13.
•
Ask: What do you see? (Elicit: monkeys, bed)
•
Say: Listen and color the pictures.
1. Color monkey #1 green.
2. Color monkey #2 red.
3. Color monkey #3 orange.
4. Color monkey #4 yellow.
5. Color monkey #5 blue.
6. Color the bed any way you choose.
•
Say: Cut on the lines.
•
Show pupils how to cut and stop at the top of the line so that they do not cut all
the way through the page.
While the pupils are working, walk around, point to a monkey and ask:
What color is monkey (#1)? (Elicit: Monkey (#1) is (green).)
What color is your bed? (Elicit a response based on how pupils have chosen to
color the bed.)
NOTE
•
Have pupils mark the pictures in the correct color as they listen to the instructions.
Then, pupils can continue finishing coloring on their own.
