Repeat to practice the words a few times.

Point to the title of the text and read together with the pupils: I Like to Run
•
Read the text together as a class or ask different pupils to read each line. Pupils
should follow along with their fingers as you read. Encourage pupils to use proper
intonation as they read the lines.

After finishing the story, answer the questions orally as a class, or have pupils answer
them with a partner/small group and record their responses on a separate sheet of
paper.
Performance Task
•
After reading the story, have pupils act out their own versions of story The Weather
Report.
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 179.
•
Pupils should work with a partner to report on the current weather outside or assign
different groups various weather scenes from around the world by providing a
picture illustrating the conditions. Have pupils use the vocabulary and lexical chunks
they have learned in this unit.
•
Along with the pupils, read the sentences and review the possible answers.
•
Say: Work with a partner to write a short skit about the weather.
Write your name in English.
Complete the sentences.
Read and practice the script with your partner.
Present the weather report to the class.
•
Pupils, should choose one or more answers in order to describe their weather scene,
and circle the pictures in their Course Books, and write the words in order to
complete the sentences. This will become the script for the skit.
•
Give pupils some time to plan, write, and practice their short weather report skit with
their partner. Check their work and give guidance as they practice.
•
Have pupils either perform the skit in class or record a video of their weather report.
•
View each group's performance to evaluate the performance task.
Use the Performance Task Rubric in Appendix Vb to assess the pupil’s work.
Pupils should use the Performance Task checklist on page 212 to assess their work.
