Say: Trace and write the sentences. Use the word bank to help you.
Do the first one with the pupils. Point to #1 and read: It is (Elicit: cold) in the
(Elicit: winter).
Have pupils copy the word "cold" on the line to complete the sentence.
Read together with the pupils: It is cold in the winter.
Give pupils a few minutes to complete the rest of the activity on their own or
with a partner.

Reveal to check answers.

Read each sentence together with the pupils. Elicit the correct word from the pupils:
1. It is (Elicit: sunny) in the (Elicit: spring).
2. It is (Elicit: hot) in the (Elicit: summer).
3. It is (Elicit: windy) in the (Elicit: fall).

Say: Listen to the sounds that form a word and write the word under the correct
picture.
Pupils can use the word box to help them.

If most pupils did not write the correct word, review the words together with the
pupils.
Point to #1 and ask: What do you see? (Elicit: I see a pen.)
Ask: How many sounds does the word 'pen' have? (Elicit and count the sounds
on your fingers together with the pupils: 3 - /p/ /e/ /n/)
Repeat for all the words.
