Say: Open your Course Books to page 175.
•
Review the words on the board with the pupils before playing the game: king, sun,
question, winter, van, spring, umbrella, fall, sky, queen, job, video, mix, rain,
summer, hat.
•
Explain the rules of the game to the pupils:
•
Have pupils play in pairs. Each pupil should have a game piece in a different
color than their partner.
Show pupils where to start and where to finish.
Throw the dice.
Have the pupils say the number they got on the dice.
Have the pupils count out loud as they move forward according to the number on
the dice.
The pupils have to say the word they land on: This is (a) _____ .
If they are correct, they may move forward one space.
If they are not correct, they must move back one space.
The winner is the one who reaches the finish line first.
Say: Play the game with a friend.

Remind the pupils of the different topics and words that were covered by showing
them the flashcards: hot, cold, sun, rain, clouds, wind.

Say: Today is (hot/cold/sunny/rainy/cloudy/windy). (Have a pupil come to the
board and point to the correct picture to describe the weather.)

Ask: What story did we read today? (Elicit: The Weather Report)
