Say: Open your Course Books to page 164. Look at #1.
•
Say: Read and number the pictures in the order they happen in the story. Use the
story in the Epic Stories to help you.
•
Give pupils a few minutes to do this on their own or with a partner.
•
Call on a pupil to choose the picture that happens first in the story.
Have the pupil read the text under the picture.
Then call another pupil until all the pictures are in the correct sequence.
•
Reveal to check answers.
•
Along with the pupils, retell the whole story as you point to each picture. Read the
text under each picture:
1. (The Wind says,) “I am the king of the sky!”
2. (The Sun says,) “I am the queen of the sky!”
3. The Wind blows.
4. He (Andy) is very cold.
5. Andy takes off his scarf and jacket.
6. The Sun says, “I am the best in the sky.”

Say: Look at #2.
•
Ask: What do you see? (Elicit: I see a sun, van, fan, gift, pen.)
•
Point to #1 and remind pupils of the sight words as you read: I see a…
•
Say: Look at the pictures and write the sentences.
•
Reveal to check answers.
•
Point to #1 and ask the pupils to read: What do you see? (Elicit: I see a sun.)
Repeat and ask different pupils to read each sentence.
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 165. Look at #3.
•
Point and read the sight words with the pupils. Remind the pupils that these are
words the pupils should have “taken a picture of” in their mind.
•
Say: Listen and color the words.
Color “the” red.
Color “is” orange.
Color “in” yellow.
Color “on” green.
Color “a” blue.
