Review the vocabulary using the flashcards: hot, cold, sun, sky, rain, clouds, wind,
umbrella, jacket, scarf, king, queen.
Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
Have pupils repeat the words.

Say: Look out the window. What’s the weather today? (Elicit: Today is (rainy).)
•
Point to ‘hot’ and ask: What’s the weather today? (Elicit: Today is (hot).)
Repeat for several weather words: hot, cold, sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy.
New
•
Teach the new vocabulary word using the flashcard and gesture.
Present the card and say the word: strong.
Have pupils repeat the word and gesture.
Game
•
Three in a Row (game #7)
Play the game to review and practice the vocabulary: hot, cold, sun, sky, rain,
clouds, wind, umbrella, jacket, scarf, king, queen, strong.
Show three randomly chosen vocabulary flashcards slowly.
Tell pupils to remember the pictures they see.
Hide the cards.
Ask: Who remembers?
Have a pupil say all three words in the correct order. If the pupil is correct, reveal
the cards.
If the pupil made a mistake, ask the class if another pupil can help, and then have
the first pupil repeat the right words.
Shuffle the cards to do this several times to review different words.
