Say: Listen and mark the sound you hear in the middle of the word.

Point to the dog and ask: What sound do you hear in the middle of the word ‘dog’?
(Elicit: /o/)
How many sounds does the word ‘dog’ have? (Elicit and count the sounds on
your fingers together with the pupils: 3 - /d/ /o/ /g/)
Repeat for all the words.
