phonemes of the words out together: kids, king

Review the vocabulary using the flashcard: quiet.

Ask: What is this? (Elicit the word and gesture: quiet)
Ask: What sound do you hear at the beginning of the word? (Elicit: /kw/)
Show the letter Qq flashcard and say: The letter is Q and the sound is /kw/.

Explain that the letter Q is always followed by the letter u, and together they
make the sound /kw/. Show the "qu" in the English words on the flashcards:
quiet, queen, question.
