Go around the room and have Max ask different pupils:
How are you? (Elicit: I am fine, thank you.)
How do you feel? (Elicit: I feel happy/sad/mad/afraid/surprised.)

If a pupil answers 'sad,' 'mad,' or 'afraid,' ask: What's the matter? (Elicit a
response in L1)
Where do you live? (Elicit: I live in (City name).)
Look out the window. What’s the weather today? (Elicit: Today is (sunny).)
Song

Sing “If You're a Boy/Girl” (song #1.8) and have pupils do movements as prompted by
the song.

I Spy (game #18)
Play the game to review the words and letters: jacket, mix, sun, umbrella, vet,
rain, box, wet, cold, open, hot, yellow.
Make binoculars with your hands and say: I spy with my little eye something
that begins with the letter (J) and the sound (/j/).
Have pupils identify the correct word. Play a few rounds.
Choose a pupil to be the spy and say: I spy with my little eye…
