Point to each letter on the ABC poster as you sing.
Review

Review the letter U by showing the Uu flashcard and asking: What is the name of the
letter? (Elicit: the letter U)
What sound does it make? (Elicit: /u/)
What words do you know that begin with the letter U? (Elicit: umbrella, under,
up etc.)
Say together with the pupils: The letter is U and the sound is /u/.
Repeat to review the letter X.

Review the vocabulary using the flashcards: jacket, jump.
Ask: What is this? (Elicit: This is (a)…)
Ask: What sound do you hear at the beginning of the words? (Elicit: /j/)
Show the letter Jj flashcard and say: The letter is J and the sound is /j/.

Present the card and say the word: job
Have pupils repeat the word.
Ask (use L1 if needed): What are some examples of jobs? (Elicit in English or L1,

in English.)
Ask some pupils: What is your father's job? (Elicit in L1 if needed, then restate in
