Teach the new vocabulary using the flashcards.
Present each card one at a time and say the word: hot, cold, sun, sky, clouds,
rain.
Have pupils repeat the words.
Teach the new lexical chunk: It's hot. / It's cold.
Say: Look out the window. Is it hot or cold today? (Elicit: It's hot/cold.)

Play the game to practice the vocabulary: hot, cold, sun, sky, clouds, wind, rain.
Show a covered flashcard with only one corner visible.
Ask: What is this?
Have pupils guess the word. If they don’t know, reveal another corner.
Continue until they get the answer correct, then reveal the whole card.
Repeat with all the words.

Point to each letter on the ABC poster as you sing.

Review the letter Z by showing the Zz flashcard and asking: What is the name of the
letter? (Elicit: the letter Z)
What sound does it make? (Elicit: /z/)
What words do you know that begin with the letter Z? (Elicit: zebra, zoo, etc.)
Say together with the pupils: The letter is Z and the sound is /z/.
Repeat to review the letters Y, O, D, W, R, N.
