Say (use L1 if needed, be sure to include much praise and encouragement in English):
Well done! We have learned many new words, read stories, and learned some
more English letters! This is the last unit of the book.
Ask: Do you remember what stories we read? (Elicit: Five Little Monkeys, The
Happy Tree House, Together is Better, Bookworm's Library, The Little Red Hen, A
Small House, What Am I? and Where is Harry?)
Ask: What letters did we learn? (Elicit: The letters C, B, A, T, S, E, L, M, F, H, G, I,
P, N, R, W, D, O, Z, and Y)

You already know how to say many things in English, and how to read many words!
Now, in our new unit we will learn the rest of the letters in the English alphabet,
the sounds they make, and how to write them. We will also read some texts in
English and read more stories! Are you ready? (Elicit: Yes, I am ready!)

Go around the room and have Max ask different pupils:
How old are you? (Elicit: I am _____ years old.)
Where do you live? (Elicit: I live in (City name).)
Do you have a pet? (Elicit: Yes, I have a cat/dog/etc. or No, I don't.)
Do you like (pizza)? (Elicit: Yes, I like (pizza). / No, I don’t like (pizza).)

Sing “Classroom Management Chant” (song #1.9) and have pupils do movements as
prompted by the song.
Vocabulary
Review

Review the vocabulary using the flashcard: wind, zero, open, long, soft, tall, big,
small.
Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the word.)
Have pupils repeat the word.
