Explain that pupils will now do an activity to see how much they remember.

Say: Open your Course Books to page 143.
•
Say: Write your name in English. Show them where.
•
Say: Listen and circle.
1. Circle the letter that makes the sound /d/.
2. Circle “I can swim.”
3. Circle “I can…”
4. Circle “I like milk.”
5. Circle the word “dad.”
6. Circle an animal that has two legs.
7. Circle the hand.
8. Circle the word “ten.”
9. Circle the nose.
10. Write the word “dog.”

Collect the assessments. After the lesson, mark the assessments on the Summary
Sheet in Appendix Va.
Self-Assessment

Tell pupils that you are so proud of them and how well they are doing in English.
•
Now you want to find out how they feel about learning English.
•
Explain that learning language takes time and everyone learns at a different pace, but
in the end we all learn.

Tell pupils they will assess how well they think they do the different things they have
learned in this unit. Tell them: What you think and feel about your learning is very
important.

Explain that this is not a test.
