Read the text together as a class or ask different pupils to read each line. Pupils
should follow along with their fingers as you read. Encourage pupils to use proper
intonation as they read the lines.

Ask: What words in the text have the sound /-an/? (Elicit: Dan, Nan, man, pan,
woman, and fan)
After finishing the story, answer the questions orally as a class, or have pupils answer
them with a partner/small group and record their responses on a separate sheet of
paper.

Remind the pupils of the different topics and words that were covered by showing
them the flashcards: head, face, hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, arms, legs, hand, feet,
tail.

Say: Point to your (legs).
•
Repeat to practice the body parts. Do a gesture to mime “tail.”
Ask: What story did we read today? (Elicit: Where is Harry?)
