Have pupils mark the pictures in the correct color as they listen to the instructions.
Then, pupils can continue finishing coloring on their own.

Use this activity to review the colors and teach the word "and."

Point to and say the sentences. Elicit the last color from the pupils:
1. Red and blue is… (Elicit: purple)
2. Yellow and red is… (Elicit: orange)
3. Blue and yellow is… (Elicit: green)

Now, repeat the sentences and elicit all the colors from the pupils. Have pupils
complete your sentences. Say: (Elicit: red) and (elicit: blue) is (elicit: purple).

Show your Epic Stories to the class. Say: This is the Epic Stories book.
•
Say: Open your Epic Stories to the story on page 5.
Show the book cover of the story Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the
Bed.
Remind the class that books in English open from the left to the right.
Show them how you open yours and turn the pages of the story.
Ask: Have you seen this picture before? (Elicit (pupils can answer in L1
if needed): Yes – in the Course Book.)

Point to a monkey and say: This is a monkey.
•
Ask: How many monkeys do you see? (Count together with the pupils and elicit: 5)
•
What color are the monkeys? (Elicit: brown)
What color are the monkeys’ pajamas? (Point to the monkeys one at a time and
elicit: red, orange, green, yellow, blue)
Say (use L1 if needed): This is a story about a monkey family. The name of the story
is Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.
