Game

What am I? (game #16)
Play the game to review the lexical chunks: I can…, I live…, I have…, I like…, I am…
Play the game to review the vocabulary: dog, duck, gorilla, kangaroo, lion, zebra,
alligator, snake, elephant, monkey
Review the words using the flashcards before playing the game.
Give two clues using the chunks: I can jump and I live in the zoo. What am I?
Elicit from the pupils the name of the animal. If they guess incorrectly, give
another clue.
When they guess correctly, say: Yes, I am a kangaroo.
Repeat for several animals.

Say: Open your Course Books to page 130. Look at #1.
•
Ask: What do you see? (Elicit: I see a lion, cat, dog, zebra, hen)
•
Say: Read the sentences and match them with the correct animal.
•
Give pupils a few minutes to do this on their own or with a partner.
•
Reveal to check answers.
•
If most pupils did not draw a line to the correct picture, read the sentences and do
the activity together.
•
Say: Look at #2.
•
Point to the letters and review by saying: The letter is O and the sound is /o/.
Repeat for each letter.
•
Read the words in the word bank together with the pupils.
•
Say: Circle the pictures that begin with the letter in each box and write the words.
•
Give pupils a few minutes to do this on their own or with a partner.
•
Reveal to check answers.
