Teach the new vocabulary by using the flashcards.
Show one of the balloon flashcards and ask (use L1 if needed): What is this?
(Elicit the cognate: balloon)
Present each flashcard one at a time: red balloon, blue balloon, yellow balloon,
green balloon, orange balloon, pink balloon, purple balloon, black balloon,
brown balloon, white balloon.
Elicit the colors if some pupils know them already.
Say the colors and have pupils repeat the words.

Teach and chant the “Balloon Color Chant” (song #1.4)

Teach and sing “Colors of the Rainbow” (song #1.25)

Teach the new vocabulary using the flashcards.
Present each card one at a time: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
nine, ten.
Elicit the numbers if some pupils know them already.
Say the numbers and count on your fingers. Have pupils copy you.

Finger Game (game #1)
Play the game to practice the numbers 1-10.
Hold up fingers and ask pupils to tell you the correct number. Ask (use L1 if
needed): How many?
Then, say a number and ask pupils to hold up the correct number of fingers.
