Point and ask: What do you see? (Elicit: I see a boys and girls, monkey,
alligator, gorilla, elephant, cat, kangaroo.)
What animal is big/small/tall/long? (Elicit the correct animal(s) from
the pupils)
What animal can jump/walk/run/swim? (Elicit the correct animal(s) from the
pupils)

Say: The name of the story is What Am I? This is a story about boys and girls who
play a game.
•
Give pupils a few minutes to explore the story on their own or with a partner by
scanning it in their Epic Stories book from page 77 to page 91. Ask:
•
Look at page 78. Count how many boys and girls are in the story.
Find the animals: alligator, gorilla, monkey, and elephant. On which page(s) did
you find them?
Find a picture of a boy or girl swimming. On which page did you find it? Find a
picture of a boy or girl jumping. On which page did you find it?
Say: Let’s read and play the game with the boys and girls in the story.
