Read the sight words at the bottom of the page together with the pupils. Point to
each word as you say them.
Ask: What color is "an"? (Elicit: purple)
Ask: What word is green? (Elicit: and)
Repeat for several words/colors to practice the sight words.

Say: Read and count the words. Write the number in the box.

•
Say: Listen and circle the letter that makes the sound you hear.

Ask: What do you see? (Elicit: I see (a) pen, ant, wet, swim, pet, list, star, camp, fan.)

Say: Write the letters in the correct order to write the word.

Do the first one with the pupils. Point to #1 and ask: What do you see in #1?
(Elicit: I see a pen.)
Ask: What sound do you hear at the beginning of the word ‘pen’? (Elicit: /p/)
Have pupils trace the letter p.
Ask: What sound do you hear in the middle of the word ‘pen’? (Elicit: /e/)
Have pupils trace the letter e.
Ask: What sound do you hear at the end of the word ‘pen’? (Elicit: /n/)
Have pupils trace the letter n.
