Say (use L1 if needed, be sure to include much praise and encouragement in English):
Well done! We have learned many new words, read stories, and learned some
more English letters!
Ask: Do you remember what stories we read? (Elicit: Five Little Monkeys, The
Happy Tree House, Together is Better, Bookworm's Library, The Little Red Hen,
and A Small House)
Ask: What letters did we learn? (Elicit: The letters C, B, A, T, S, E, L, M, F, H, G, I,
and P)

Now, in our new unit we will learn some more letters, the sounds they make, and
how to write them. We will also read some short sentences and texts in English and
read more stories! Are you ready? (Elicit: Yes, I am ready!)

Go around the room and have Max ask different pupils:
Are you a boy or a girl? (Elicit: I am a boy/girl).
How many brothers/sisters do you have? (Elicit: I have _____ brothers/sisters.)
How old are you? (Elicit: I am _____ years old.)
Where do you live? (Elicit: I live in (City name).)

Sing “Point to the Window (song #1.32) to review the classroom vocabulary and have
pupils point as they are prompted by the song.

Review the vocabulary using the flashcards: man, woman, big, small, blue, black,
brown, white, red, yellow.
Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
Have pupils repeat the words.
