If the pupils do not guess correctly, flash the card and have pupils guess again.
Repeat with all the cards.
The Story: The Little Red Hen
Course Book

Say: Open your Course Books to page 89. Look at #3.
•
Ask: Who do you see? (Elicit: The Little Red Hen, the yellow duck, the brown dog,
and the white cat.)
•
Say: Color the animals according to the story: color the hen red, the duck yellow,
the dog brown, and the cat white.
•
Give pupils a few minutes to color the characters.
•
Say:
Cut out the pictures on the dotted lines only. Do not cut on the red lines.
Make the finger puppets by gluing the strip to make a ring.
•
Give the pupils some time to make the puppets.
•
While the pupils are working, walk around, point and ask:
•
Who is this? (Elicit: This is The Little Red Hen.)
What color is the (duck)? (Elicit: (The duck) is (yellow).)
When pupils are finished, say: Show me the (Ren Hen).
Have pupils hold up the correct puppet and say: This is the (Red Hen).
Repeat to review each character.
Have pupils mark the pictures in the correct color as they listen to the
instructions. Then, pupils can continue finishing coloring on their own.
Alternatively, pupils can glue the pictures onto sticks to create stick puppets.
