Introductions and Greetings
Greetings
•
Go around the room and have Max ask different pupils:
Are you a boy or a girl? (Elicit: I am a boy/girl.)
How old are you? (Elicit: I am _____ years old.)
Where do you live? (Elicit: I live in (City name).)
How do you feel? (Elicit: I feel happy/sad/mad/afraid/surprised.)

If a pupil answers 'sad,' 'mad,' or 'afraid,' ask: What's the matter? (Elicit a
response in L1)
Song
•
Sing “Zoo Song” (song #2.11) and have pupils do movements as prompted by the
song to act out the animals.
Vocabulary
Game
•
Number/Picture Game (game #4)
Play the game to review the vocabulary: farm, hen, duck, dog, cat, gorilla,
kangaroo, lion, zebra, elephant.
Review the words using the flashcards before playing the game.
Write the numbers 1-10 below each picture.
Say a word that is on one of the flashcards. Tell the pupils look at the number
under the picture and say the number while holding up the correct number of
fingers.
Alternate by you saying a number and the pupils replying with the corresponding
word.
After a few turns, shuffle the words on the board so that the numbers change.
