Say: Open your Course Books to page 70. Look at #2.

Have pupils "read" the pictures across each row to review the words. Pupils should
use their finger to follow the pictures as they move from left to right.

Say: Circle the picture of the word that does not begin with the same sound.
•
Have pupils complete the task on their own or with a partner.
•
Reveal to check answers.
•
Say: Which picture did you circle in #1? (Elicit: lion)
What sound do you hear at the beginning of the word 'lion'? (Elicit: /l/)
What sound do you hear at the beginning of the words 'ant, alligator'? (Elicit:
/a/)
Repeat for #2 and #3.

Point to each letter on the poster as you sing.
Review

Review the letter E by showing the Ee flashcard and asking: What is the name of the
letter? (Elicit: the letter E)
What sound does it make? (Elicit: /e/)
What words do you know that begin with the letter E? (Elicit: elephant, end,
egg, etc.)
Say together with the pupils: The letter is E and the sound is /e/.
Repeat to review the letters S, T, A, B, C.
