Ask pupils to share their work with the class. Have the rest of the pupils ask about the
favorite book:
What is the name of the book?
How do you feel when you read the book? (Elicit: I feel happy, sad, afraid,
surprised, or mad.)
Why do you like the book? (Pupil may answer in L1)
After pupils are finished, collect the book covers to evaluate the performance task.
NOTE
•
If available, the pupil’s work may then be displayed on an English corner in the
classroom, creating your own “Bookworm’s Library” at school. Draw pupil’s attention
to the library once the board is complete and be sure to praise pupils for their work.
Use the Performance Task Rubric in Appendix Vb to assess the pupil’s work.
Pupils should use the Performance Task checklist on page 213 to assess their work.
