Greetings

Go around the room and have Max ask different pupils:
Are you a boy or a girl? (Elicit: I am a boy/girl.)
How do you feel? (Elicit: I feel happy/sad/mad/afraid/surprised.)
How many brothers/sisters do you have? (Elicit: I have _____ brothers/sisters.)
How old are you? (Elicit: I am _____ years old.)
Song
•
Sing “This is the Way We Sit on Our Chairs” (song #1.38) and have pupils do
movements as prompted by the song.
Vocabulary
Review

Hang the classroom poser on the wall and have pupils look at it.

Review the vocabulary using the classroom poster you have hung in the classroom, or
by showing the flashcard: classroom, pupils, friends, boys, girls, teacher, crayons,
scissors, glue, paper, pen, pencils, rulers, books, chairs, desks, bags, star, poster, cats,
windows.

Ask: Where is this? (Elicit: This is the classroom.)
Ask: Who do you see in the classroom? Have pupils come to the board to point
and say: I see (a) teacher (Mrs. Anderson), pupils/friends/boys and girls (Anne,
Soo, Tom, Mike, Jamal, Andy, Jamie), Max.
Ask: What do you see in the classroom? Have pupils come to the board to point
and say: I see (a) crayons, scissors, glue, paper, pen, pencils, rulers, books, chairs,
desks, bags, star, poster, windows.
Ask: How many (bags) do you see? What colors are the (chairs)?
Point to the blackboard and ask: What letters do you know? (Elicit: The letters A,
B, C, E, S, T)
