Say: Open your Course Books to page 55. Look at #8.

Introduce the sight word: see
Point to the word "see" and say the word. Have pupils point to "see" in their
books and repeat the word.
Remind pupils of the lexical chunk “I see…” by pointing to some things in the
classroom: I see (a book/door).
Tell pupils that this is another little word in English that they will see often and
that pupils should "take a picture of" it in their mind so they can recognize it.
Remind pupils of the sight word they learned previously: a

Say: Color the word “see” in blue.
•
Point to each word in the lexical chunk as you read together with the pupils, then
point to the 'snake': I see a snake.
•
Introduce the sight word: I
Point to the word "I" and say the word. Have pupils point to "I" in their books and
repeat the word.
Tell pupils to "take a picture of" this word in their mind as well.
•
Ask: What do you see? (Elicit sentences from different pupils as they read the sight
words: I see a…(+ image from the box).)
•
Say: Look at #9.
•
Point to #1 and ask: What do you see? (Read together with the pupils: I see a chair.)
•
Say: Trace the words. Read the sentences.
While pupils are working, walk around checking that pupils are tracing carefully
on the lines and writing the letters from left to right and top to bottom.

Reveal to check answers.
•
Point to #2 and ask: What do you see? (Read together with the pupils: I see a
banana.)
Repeat for each sentence.
•
Say: Look at #10.
•
Point to the cat and ask: What do you see? (Elicit: I see a cat.)
•
Say: Write a sentence to describe what you see.
•
Reveal to check answers.
Read the sentence together with the pupils. Point to each word as you read.
