Writing
•
Show or draw an empty letter house.
•
Write a big E and a small e in the house. Be sure to show how to write the letters,
their position within the house, where to begin each line, and the proper direction to
draw them. Say:
•
Look at how big E starts in the roof… and goes into the house. Then starts again
in the roof… in the middle… and in the house.
And small e stays in the house.
Trace the big letter E on the board and have pupils write the letter with their finger in
the air or on their desks, then repeat with small letter e.
As you trace, say together with the pupils: The letter is E and the sound is /e/.
Course Book
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 53. Look at #3.
•
Say: Trace then write the big and small letters Ee.
•
While pupils are working, walk around checking that pupils are tracing carefully on
the lines and writing the letters from left to right and top to bottom.
•
Say: Look at #4.
•
Ask: What do you see? (Elicit: I see (an) elephant, end, egg.)
•
Ask: What sound do you hear at the beginning of the words? (Elicit: /e/)
Point to the letter Ee. Trace the letters with your finger on the board. Have the pupils
trace in their Course Books.
As you trace, say together with the pupils: The letter is E and the sound is /e/.
•
Say: Write the first letter of the word under each picture. Write the big letter and
small letter.
•
While pupils are working, walk around checking that pupils are writing the letter
accurately.
•
Reveal to check answers.
•
