Review

Use flashcards or the real objects to review the lexical chunk, prepositions, and
previously taught vocabulary: Where is (the) _____ ? in, on, near, under.
•
Have pupils take out and ready their: bag, pencil, crayons, glue, scissors, book.
•
Say (use L1 if needed): Listen and follow my instructions.
•
Put your pencil on your book (you can use the Couse Book) and ask: Where is the
pencil? (Have pupils use their school supplies to illustrate each sentence. Elicit: The
pencil is on the book.)
Repeat with other sentences and elicit:

The crayons are in the bag.

The glue is near the book.

The scissors are under the book.

Chant the “Preposition Chant” (song #1.39)
•
Do the gestures as you chant and have pupils copy the movements.
Vocabulary
Review
•
Review the vocabulary using the flashcards: teacher, pupil, star, woman, poster,
desk, chair, door, window.
Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
Have pupils repeat the words and point to things in the classroom.
Game
•
Hot and Cold (game #10)
Decide on an object or a flashcard of an item to hide in the classroom together as
a class: different colored crayons, a book (you can use the Course Book), a pencil,
paper, glue, scissors, or a bag.
Have one pupil leave the room.
Ask the class to help you decide where in the classroom to hide the object.
