Point out to pupils that the sentence begins with a big letter (A) and ends with a

Have pupils point to the word.
Explain that there are some little words in English that they will see often and
that pupils should "take a picture of" it in their mind so they can recognize it.
Say: Circle all the words "a" in #10 and #9.
Read all the phrases with "a" together with the pupils.
ABC Notebook

Say: Open your ABC Notebooks to page 204.
•
Complete the page according to the instructions on page 15.
•
Read the words together with the pupils before they trace and write on their own.
Sound out each letter before putting the words together: as, sat.
Teach the new vocabulary word "as" (use L1 if needed to explain the meaning
and use the word in context, for example, "Point as you jump.").
Do a movement to show the meaning of the word "sat" and explain that "sat" is
the past form of "sit" (sit down) (motion behind you with your hand to indicate
past tense). Use L1 when needed.
Say: Point to the letter S at the beginning of the word “sat.” Point to the letter S
at the end of the word “as.”
