Tell pupils that ‘at’, ‘sat’, 'cat' and 'bat' are all rhyming words because they have
the same ending sound /at/ (use L1 when needed).
Read the words together with the pupils, sounding out each letter before putting the
word together: sat, cat, bat.
Say: Circle the red 'at' in each word.
