Kate: Tom, it’s almost six o’clock. We need to go! Where’s your bicycle?
Tom: It’s outside. I’m ready!
Kate: Great. My bike is outside, too, and I have the MP3 player here. Let’s go!
Tom: Wait, lets get our helmets!
Kate: OK.
Kate: I will listen to the directions on the MP3. Follow me! (Button clicks)
MP3 (female computer voice): YOU ARE GOING TO BUILDING NUMBER 9, THE
LAKEVIEW COMMUNITY CENTER. THE NEW COMMUNITY CENTER IS ON STATE STREET,
OPPOSITE BUILDING NUMBER 6, THE LAKEVIEW POLICE STATION.
Kate: Tom, can you hear it?
Tom: Yes, I can. You go first, and I’ll follow you!
Kate: OK!
MP3: You are at home. Go out of your house and turn right on River Street, then turn
left on Park Street. YOU WILL SEE BUILDING NUMBER 3, YOUR SCHOOL. ON YOUR LEFT.
Kate: This is where we turn.
(pause)
MP3: BUILDING NUMBER 2, THE LAKEVIEW HOSPITAL, IS ON YOUR RIGHT. IF YOU LOOK
AHEAD, YOU WILL SEE BUILDING NUMBER 5, THE POST OFFICE TO THE RIGHT AND
BUILDING NUMBER 4, SAM’S SUPERMARKET, TO THE LEFT.
Tom: There’s the post office!
(pause)
MP3: AT THE END OF PARK STREET TURN RIGHT ONTO FOREST STREET.
Kate: OK. we turn right here.
