time!
Kate:
Thanks, Dad. Bye, Mom! We love you!
Mrs. Miller:
Kate, don’t forget to turn off your phone!
Kate:
OK….Hey, Tom, look! It’s a message from MoCa! It says, “Welcome to

Miss Lee:
(over P.A. system) Good evening and welcome to Royal Airlines flight 1093 to
London. My name is Miss Lee, and I will be your pilot tonight. It is now 11:45
p.m. New York time, and our flight will take just over seven hours. Remember
to change your watches: London time is five hours ahead of New York, which
means that we will land at 11:45 a.m., London time.
Kate:
Here are our seats. You can sit by the window. Let’s put on our seatbelts.
Tom:
I’m putting our bags on the floor, under the seats. Oh, wait. I need my
notebook.
Kate:
Oh…can you give me my book about London? It’s in my bag. Hey, what are
you writing in your notebook?
Tom:
Wait, wait…11:45… five hours ahead…seven hour flight…one o’clock, London
time. What? I don’t get it!
Kate:
Come on, silly. We’ve had a long day, and it’s way past your bedtime. Get
some sleep. Here’s your pillow, and look, there’s a blanket for you, too.
