(They have Mike's picture of her.) Why do the kids want to talk to her? (they want her help to solve the mystery)Frames 4-5 Does Bettina know that the paintings were stolen? (yes) Why does she come to the museum so often? (The paintings are special to her.) Why are the paintings so special to her? (She sold them to Mr. Bates.) HOTS question: Can the children learn something from that information? (Accept all logicalanswers but try to lead to the fact that the seal on the note had the letter B on it and thatBettina sold the painting to Mr. Bates.) HOTS: Do you think she may be the thief? (B for Bettina? Accept all logical answers.) How can Bettina remember what happened on the day she sold the paintings? It was somany years ago. (She wrote it all in her diary.)123
