THE DETECTIVES - TEACHER’S GUIDE - Unit 3
In a question, we have to move the verb to the beginning of the sentence.
o So we get: Was John sick yesterday? / Were the children at school last week? (Write
it on the board)
When we want a negative sentence, we simply add ‘not’ to the verb.
o So we get: Mary was not at school last week OR Mary wasn’t at school last week.
(Write it on the board.) / John and Tom were not at home two hours ago OR John
and Tom weren’t at home two hours ago.
