READING A
Reading A focuses remediation on decoding
accuracy and spelling skills through the
direct teaching of vowel sound options,
syllable types and division, spelling patterns
and options, morphemes (prefixes, suffixes,
roots), and fluency strategies. Instruction
is based on the Shelton therapeutic,
multisensory reading curriculum and includes
oral reading, fluency drills, spelling practice,
and other repetitive drills.

READING B
Reading B focuses remediation on decoding accuracy skills through the direct
teaching of vowel sound options, syllable types and division, morphemes
(prefixes, suffixes, roots), and fluency strategies, all designed to help students
decode and read multi-syllabic words more accurately. Instruction is based
on the Shelton therapeutic, multisensory reading curriculum and includes oral
reading, fluency drills, and other repetitive drills. Vocabulary development is also
included in this course.

READING C
Reading C focuses skill development on improving reading comprehension.
Students learn and apply reading comprehension strategies such as active
reading, paraphrasing, summarizing, and annotation to various texts, including
textbooks in the content areas, novels, short stories, and short passages.
Vocabulary development and morpheme development are enforced.
