Letter From the President
& Board Chairman
We are often asked, “What is a Community Foundation?” And while our answer seems simple,
that “we connect people who care with causes that matter,” it goes well beyond that. At the
Community Foundation, we connect individuals, families, and businesses to the causes they care
about. We are the link that connects donors to organizations that provide valuable support in
our community and we are a solution that provides students in need of scholarships to pursue
postsecondary education. We are the resource for organizational partnerships and a guide for
nonprofits seeking to expand. We are the partner in launching your current philanthropy and the
stewards of your future charitable legacy.
This year we embarked on a strategic planning process to guide us in the coming years.
We listened to the community and we learned. The process led us to new strategies to grow as a
hub for local philanthropy in the coming years. As we implement these strategies, we understand
the responsibility and trust that comes with safeguarding your donations and honoring your
intent. As we move forward, we know that while times may change, we as an organization must
adapt to meet the needs of our community. Throughout the changing times we remain steadfast
in our values; trustworthy, resourceful, accountable, leadership, and community driven. We are
proud to continue this commitment to the community and to those we serve.
We thank all those who have collaborated with us over the last year. Your vision, dedication and
generosity are what create meaningful impact in our community. We are proud to share with
you a small sample of that impact in the pages of this annual report. Our success is your success
and we hope and trust that you are uplifted by the local impact we have together and that this
serves as an inspiration for you to consider how you can fulfill your charitable intent and make an
impact in our community by collaborating with the Community Foundation.
