UNDER THE
MOOSE HEAD
Frank Kenny (ChE’94) and Tracie (Weiss) Kenny (T’94)
We both attended a leadership retreat for residence hall government held at nearby Camp Tecumseh the weekend
before school started in August 1991. I was the vice president of Cary Quad, and Tracie was the secretary at Meredith
Hall. After we were both eliminated from a group card game, I asked Tracie if she’d like to go for a walk. We walked and
talked for hours and eventually ended up in a separate building away from the others. We found out that we had a lot in
common (we were both from New York, albeit from separate parts of the state) and talked until dawn underneath—of
all things—a giant mounted moose head. After losing all sense of time, we rejoined the group, who worried that we had
gotten lost in the woods. A few years after graduation, I proposed to her under that same moose head. —FRANK KENNY
