is an award-winning
illustrator and graphic designer. Her
illustrations, art, and graphic stories have
been published in ComiXology, the Great
American Short Stories course by the Great
Courses, The Mulberry Tree magazine,
and more. She has won 11 awards for her
work in higher education, including an
APEX Gold Award and Best in Show for
her design work on the St. Mary’s College
of Maryland (SMCM) dedication of the
Commemorative to Enslaved Peoples of
Southern Maryland and two Council for
Advancement and Support of Education
Circle of Excellence Awards for her
design work on SMCM’s Giving Tuesday
campaigns. Houk’s illustrative work has
also has been a part of two international
art exhibitions. A full-time designer, Houk
is an active member in Phi Beta Kappa and
the American Institute of Graphic Arts. She
resides in Indiana with her fiancé.

Valencia, Spain, and began drawing at a
young age. After several years of working
for advertising and marketing agencies in
Spain and New York, he moved to Buenos
Aires and began pursuing a career as
an illustrator. Lawerta’s work, featuring
a simple yet colorful style and a concise
color palette, is often inspired by his
life in Argentina and his love of soccer
and music. He has worked with brands
worldwide, including ESPN, Miller Lite,
FIFA, and New Era.
