Powered by Purdue University, Purdue Polytechnic High School (PPHS) was created to offer
new pathways to Purdue, specifically for K–12
Hoosier students who are underserved by traditional high schools and underrepresented in
higher education. With three campuses in Indiana, PPHS immerses students and their families
in an innovative, hands-on learning community.
Purdue was recently named one of the Top
10 Most Innovative Schools in the nation for the
fourth year in a row. One of those innovations
was the establishment of PPHS and its work in
reaching and inspiring underserved students.
PPHS helps students prepare for the next
chapter of their lives by fostering lifelong learn-
ing and pathways to college—including careers
in advanced manufacturing, technology, and
jobs not even envisioned yet.
The first-ever graduating class at PPHS Schweitzer Center at Englewood sent 40 seniors
to Purdue in the fall of 2021. PPHS First Class, a
documentary series, introduces three of these
students and their paths to Purdue. This series
shows viewers what words cannot describe—
students’ persistence to shape their future and
the support from their community, school, and
teachers who make it all possible.
Follow Prem Hall, Audrey Williamson, and
Keante Jackson as they help reinvent the high
school experience. They are leaders. They are
trailblazers. And now, they are Boilermakers.
